Fastidious Detail

As the days grow shorter and the temperature falls Cutler & Co's new winter collection comes alive. With a focus on mixing and developing interesting contrasts, it's all about using dress-up elements for both office and play. The direction is one that mixes elegance and uncompromised detail with a shot of extravagance.

Trousers and pants continue Cutler & Co's history of elegant flattering silhouettes with a focus on the finest quality natural fibres. Wool features strongly in tailored trousers, whilst cotton forms the basis of the casual pant range. Subtle pinstripes contrast with not so subtle checks. However, denim overshadows all other bottom weights with a focus on vintage attire (garments that are purposely aged and beaten up) in comfortable fits with superior handle. Proven jean blocks that are tried and tested and perfectly suit the antipodean man, are guaranteed to become a favorite in his wardrobe. Denim can be worn dressed up with blazer styles jackets, dressed down with long sleeve tees, or dressed warm with cozy woolen sweaters.

Knitwear styles are produced from the finest woolen yarns (including lambs wool, worsted wool and 100% New Zealand Merino wool). The sleeveless vest reappears and is sure to be a standout item given its universal appeal and downright practical sensibilities. Zip through styles remain strong and we witness the reinterpretation of argyle, using a more restrained approach than previously seen.

V-neck styles take over where high necks left off, leaving increased opportunities to show off fabulous and sometimes blatantly daring shirt designs, where these would have otherwise been hidden by sleeves and neck-line.

Possibly the single most exciting aspect of the collection is the vast array of shirts, ranging across a huge variety of fabrics, patterns and designs. Stretch cotton poplins in a range of plain colours feature a variety of details such as embroidery, darts and panels, along with regular and French cuffs and strong masculine collars. Printed designs feature abstract and floral patterns ranging from the subtle to the downright outrageous. Pay special attention to floral features added inside yokes and under French cuffs, which add interest to already beautiful stripes and plains. Italian shirting materials continue to feature strongly and winter sees the introduction of a select range of the finest Japanese milled fabrics. Stripes are still very much the leading edge of fashion, but this season look out for subtle floral micro-monogramming details and more obvious flocking features.

Jackets by and large fit into two broad categories; two-button blazer designs and 3-button car-coats. Each have been crafted from the finest Italian fabrics with special attention to detail and fit. Herringbone and Hounds-tooth patterns compliment and contrast multi-tone checks and elegant pinstripes of varying widths and weights.

With an emphasis on fastidious detail, using the world's finest quality raw-materials, Cutler & Co offers even the most beleaguered modern man a feeling of rediscovered freedom.
